The Oyster Blueprint: A Regenerative Brand through Open Innovation
The Oyster Blueprint: A Regenerative Brand through Open Innovation
Project Brief
Collaborating with a sustainable, eco-friendly and circular-economy friendly startup in order to understand business goals, mission and objectives to gauge potential gaps in their business roadmap and propose solutions in the form of business strategies for future resilience and growth of company.
Project Overview
My team and I shadowed MatterForms, a sustainable company based in London - and helped build strategies around 'Open Innovation' to help the startup grow and thrive, aided by a community of sustainability experts.
Project Impact
The strategy is helping re-build the product formula, where the product is now better equipped at withstanding pressure, movement and falls. This is leading to significant growth - with a durable, strong product branching from architectural elements to decor and showpieces.

Why is this problem important?
The formula had to be stronger in order to withstand various manufacturing processes - like the pressure from cast molding. The next question was - how do we seek appropriate expertise about product formulas, from where and from whom? How do we find the right ingredients that work with sustainable materials like oyster shells?

Research Methods
1. SECONDARY RESEARCH AND INTERVIEWING
We investigated what the current problem was - how MatterForms is addressing it, who their manufacturers are, what locations are they based out of. Understanding their team's journeys to different manufacturing companies and feedback received regarding material formulation.

Problem Statement.

The Process
The drawing board. 4 designers. One mission.
